No heat or hot water - could be broken diaphragms and airlocks, failure of motorised valves, issues with the thermostat or low water levels.
Leaking and dripping - a variety of issues could cause your boiler to leak water. It will depend on where the water is leaking from to determine the cause.
Strange banging, whistling or gurgling noises - air in the system is a common cause, alternatively it could be that the water pressure is too low or it’s kettling. Pump failure, particularly in older systems, could also be responsible for strange banging noises.
Pilot light goes out - could be a broken thermocouple which is removing the gas supply to the pilot light, a draught blowing the pilot light out or a deposit built up in the pilot light.
Losing pressure - a water leak in the system is the most common reason for a loss of pressure. But it could also mean that the pressure relief valve needs replacing or your Mayfair water supply is at fault.
Frozen condensate pipe - thawing a frozen pipe should ideally be done by a qualified engineer.
Thermostat issues - if the thermostat is losing accuracy or turning the heating on/off when its’ not supposed to it might be time to invest in a newer, more energy efficient one.
Radiators not getting hot - corroded pipework can cause sludge to gather in the system, preventing the free flow of hot water to the radiators. Chemically cleaning or flushing the system will remove these deposits.
Boiler keeps switching itself off - could be low water pressure, a problem with the thermostat or a lack of water flow due to a closed valve, air or the pump not circulating the water in the system properly.
Kettling - hearing a strange rumbling noise? When lime scale builds up on your boiler’s heat exchange you get kettling.

  We had a gas leak under our floorboards and Samuele quickly advised on the best solution and Nicola came and installed a new gas pipe.  Everyone we dealt with at The Italian Plumber was considerate, polite and extremely professional.  Our experience was that they want to do the best possible job for their customers.   New Boiler and New Radiators We have just had a new boiler and radiators put in. From the initial discussions with Samuele, thinking about the design, their innovative approach (replacing very old system) and the execution delivered by excellent installers Darius & Nico, sorting out challenges in an efficient and tidy way.   A very reassuring experience with the Italian Plumber. Gave me a quick appointment for a leaking connection to my washing machine. Arrived as promised, identified the problem, turned off all water, fixed the problem, explained what had happened and the remedy, turned everything back on (and checked) and tidied up.   Excellent service from start to finish My experience with The Italian Plumber was exceptional, from the booking process with Vicki and Sharon, through to the works being completed. I needed twenty year old taps replacing in my bathroom and a washing machine unplumbed. Liam was extremely personable and not only completed the works to the highest of standards, but was able to solve a mains water pipe issue that had defeated other plumbers over the course of many years.   Samuele was helpful and efficient as usual. Our hot water had stopped feeding one of our unvented water tanks. There was a delay for a week as he was on leave. The problem was rapidly diagnosed and a new part fitted within a hour.

  Great service! I had a number of jobs that needed doing in our new kitchen and federico was able to do all of them in the allotted time including moving a radiator, and installing a tricky gas hob for us.   The Italian Plumber. Efficient, prompt, polite and highly skilled I phoned the Italian Plumber at 5pm on the 20th July. I received an appointment for the next morning. The plumber arrived promptly at 9.15am, quickly identified the problem, identified the part needed. Collected the part and efficiently fitted it. He also vacuumed the surrounding area. He was polite, efficient and skilled. I would highly recommended The Italian Plumber- the office staff are so helpful and always call back and answer calls within minutes.   Professional and efficient company Installed a new Megaflo system. Excellent and prompt service. From first contacting them, their response, ease of providing a quote based on some questions, deposit was paid, installation date was agreed.
