Meet the team: Spotlight on Federico
About Federico
He loves his job, he loves meeting people, and he loves exploring new places.
Simply put, Federico is all about the amore.
Hello Federico, nice to meet you. What do you do at the Italian Plumber?
Ciao. Nice to meet you, too. I work as a gas engineer/plumber.
How long have you been working for Samuele?
I came to the UK two and a half years ago and began working for Samuele in December 2019.
Where are you from?
Similar to Samuele and Enrico, I come from a beautiful part of Italy. A village close to the mountains, in between Verona and Venice. My region is called Veneto.
What’s it like working for Samuele?
He’s a good boss! He comes from a village close to mine, and my father knew his father. He’s a little older than I am, so I didn’t hang around with him when we were young. But I do remember him having dreadlocks. He was about 15 – 18 at the time and I used to see him catching the bus. He’s very fair to work for and generally good fun.
What inspired you to become a plumber?
My dad and brother are both plumbers, and I have another brother who’s an electrician.
In the summer I would help them… they taught me so much. I guess the whole thing of fixing stuff was just kind of in my blood.
When I was old enough to work, I did try other jobs, like working in a shop, but I love my freedom. Plumbing is a steady career that still enables you to get out there, meet people, and remain free.
I genuinely love what I do and could never see myself working in an office or anything like that. I get a lot of satisfaction from what I do… I’m very lucky.
If you weren’t a plumber, what would you do?
Probably something like a computer programmer, or something where I could work from anywhere. It would be nice to be able to work three months here, three months there… something that would give me total freedom and flexibility.
What are your hobbies?
I just enjoy spending time with my beautiful girlfriend and her dog, Alfie. It’s a Westie.
We love going for long walks in the countryside, exploring museums, that kind of thing.
If you could get on a plane right now, where would you go and who would you go with?
My girlfriend, Pum, is from Bangkok, so I would love to visit there… I’ve never been before.
I’d take her with me.
Federico, thank you for your time today, it’s been a pleasure speaking with you.
The pleasure’s been all mine. Ciao!
