Ask Samuele: December 2021

This month, Suzana from Twickenham asks…

Dear Samuele,

Over the years, the seal around my bath has become covered in mould. It looks dreadful.
And, no matter how much bleach or mould removal solution I use on it, I just can’t seem to shift it.

If I have to, I’ll remove the seal and replace it. Thing is, I’d rather not do that until I’ve explored any other possible options. Is there any product or device you could recommend that will completely eradicate the nasty mess that’s found its way around my otherwise lovely-looking bath?

Yours sincerely,

Samuele says:

Ciao, Suzana! And grazie mille for your question.

It’s your lucky day. Yes, I know an easy way that’s almost guaranteed to work.
It worked for me.

Pour the thickest bleach you can buy over the mouldy seal around the bath.
Then roll toilet tissue paper into strips and firmly and directly place it onto the seal; making sure that it is completely covered in the bleach.

Leave it there for at least 12 hours (I leave it for 24 hours), then remove.

Hey presto! Your bath seal will look as good as new.

Oh, and don’t forget to use rubber gloves when you do this.

Ciao for now.
