Radoslaw the plumber

Meet the team: Spotlight on Radoslaw

Rad by name, but not my nature.

He loves the simple pleasures in life, and he’s also very handy. Let’s meet Radoslaw.

What do you do at IT?
I’m a heating engineer.
I do the usual plumbing stuff: boilers, changing taps, attending to toilet leaks – that kind of thing.

Where are you from?
Bialystok, Poland.

How long have you been working for Samuele?
Getting on for two-and-a-half years.

Do you enjoy what you do?
Yes, I’m very happy. The hours are good, and it allows me to drop my children off to school in the mornings. I like helping people, too.

Have you always been a plumber?

When I first came to England in 2003, I was a handyman. I then went to plumbing school and became a fully qualified heating engineer.

What are your outside interests or hobbies?
Just simple stuff like walking the dog, and playing football with my sons – I have three of them, and a wife. There’s lots of activities like games on a Sunday, and swimming – it keeps me very busy.

If you could travel anywhere right now, where would you go?

Any country that isn’t cold.

If you won the lottery tomorrow, what would you do?
I would keep my job, as I enjoy working. But I’d probably buy a new car and house.

What is the worst part of your job?
Unblocking drains and toilets is never nice.

If you were not a plumber, what would you be doing?
Probably a handyman again. I really enjoyed it.

Radoslaw, it’s been lovely to meet you. Thanks for your time today.
Thank you. It’s been nice speaking with you.
